Kameshwar Chaupal, 64 years old from economically backwards cast, is one who laid the foundation stone for Shree Ram temple in Ayodhya on November 9, 1989. He believes our forefathers include greats like Vyas, Valmiki, Kabir and the father of the Indian Constitution, Dr BR Ambedkar and India will finally witness Ram Rajya wherein every person would enjoy the same status, minus caste boundaries.

He got elected as a Bihar State Member of Legislative Council (MLC) in 2002.

He is the Dalit member of Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra - the trust responsible for the construction and upkeep of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
